Crystal Cruises is to offer new shore excursions for guests sailing on Crystal Symphony’s New England and Eastern Canada cruises between mid-September and October this year.
While in Halifax, Nova Scotia, guests can take a new excursion to Blomidon Park and Grand-Pré National Historic, Canada’s newest UNESCO World Heritage Site. Alternatively, guests can cycle along the Lawrencetown Beach trail and visit the Kuhn Conservation Area to learn about the local wildlife from an expert guide.
Shore excursions in Bar Harbor in Maine include the opportunity to join a guide and Crystal’s fitness director to run on the 5km carriage roads in Acadia National Park, or the chance to hike the park’s Ocean Trail, guided by an expert naturalist.
Meanwhile, guests can zipline alongside the Reversing Rapids in Saint John, New Brunswick, and join an expert sailor onboard one of the America’s Cup vessels in New Port, Rhode Islands.
“Many of our guests actively seek opportunities to go out and ‘do’ while visiting new or favourite destinations, as actually immersing oneself in the activities practiced there is a wonderful way to become acquainted with the culture,” said Edie Rodriguez, Crystal’s president. “Autumn in New England and Canada is a quintessentially special experience, so we’ve carefully crafted excursions that allow our guests to fully enjoy the surroundings.”
Crystal’s 2015 New England/Canada voyages range from seven to ten nights, sailing between New York in the US and Montréal in Canada. The ships call at Boston, Massachusetts; Bar Harbor and Portland, Maine; Newport, Rhode Island; Saint John, New Brunswick; Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia; Québec City, Montréal, Magdalen Islands, Sept-Ĩles, Charlottetown, Canada; and Saint-Pierre Miquelon, France.
