Cunard Line is to introduce new dining options and a host of enhancements to each of Queen Mary 2’s existing restaurants when she undergoes a multimillion-dollar refit this June.
The Cunard flagship, which will undergo a multimillion-dollar refit at the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Germany between 27 May and 21 June 2016, will feature several new dining venues. These will include a completely transformed Kings Court Buffet; new Queens and Princess Grill menus and completely refurbished restaurants for suite guests; and Carinthia Lounge, which will serve alternative breakfast and lunchtime offerings with bespoke premium coffees. Meanwhile, the Todd English restaurant will be replaced by The Verandah restaurant and bar, which will offer dishes inspired by French regional cooking, as well as pre- and post-meal drinks.
Guests will also be able to enjoy a new Smokehouse alternative dining concept, updated menus in the existing Britannia Restaurant and Golden Lion pub, and a refreshed Afternoon Tea menu in the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar.
Many of the new menus are being created and tested by chefs and culinary experts at a new Development Kitchen in Cunard’s homeport of Southampton, UK.
“At Cunard, we pride ourselves in delivering a culinary experience that continuously exceeds guest expectations and illustrates Cunard’s utmost attention to detail,” said Richard Meadows, president of Cunard North America. “We are pleased to debut refreshed culinary offerings on Queen Mary 2 Remastered, which we have created to appeal to the most discerning guests by revitalising classic dishes and creating new ones.”
