Cunard is partnering with two Michelin-starred ched Michel Roux on the development of menus for its new ship, Queen Anne.
Roux will work alongside Cunard’s culinary development chefs to create a gala menu for the Queens Grill restaurant and a new menu for the ship’s pub, the Golden Lion. The new menu will feature a selection of traditional British pub dishes reimagined by Roux. It will launch onboard Queen Anne in May 2024 before being rolled out to the existing fleet later in the year.
“It is an absolute privilege to be working with Cunard’s hugely talented and passionate culinary development chefs as we countdown to the launch of their newest ship Queen Anne,” said Roux. “For me, there is no better recipe than blending high quality ingredients with elegant execution to create unforgettable experiences for diners, and I am incredibly excited to showcase our elevated, reimagined pub classics to Cunard guests very soon.”
Cunard has also revealed four additional dining venues onboard Queen Anne – Aji Wa, Aranya, Sir Samuels and Tramonto. Aji Wa, Aranya and Sir Samuels will be alternative evening dining options, while Tramonto will be one of the two main venues alongside the Golden Lion pub.
Aji Wa is a brand-new venue for Cunard and will feature Japanese cuisine influence by the seasons of the year. Sushi and an a la carte menu will be available for lunch and dinner, with an additional option to participate in a Omikase ‘chef’s choice’ tasting menu in the evening.
Aranya is another new concept which will offer Indian cuisine, with menus curated by experts in Indian cooking. Sir Samuels, on the other hand, will serve British and Australian beef and seafood, with steaks selected by their place of origin.
Finally, Tramonto will feature a menu of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, as well as an outdoor area for guests to dine al-fresco in the evening.
“We’re excited to share a flavour of what will be served onboard Queen Anne in 2024,” said Angus Struthers, acting senior vice president for Cunard. “Cunard is renowned for high-quality dining options, and we’re delighted to be working with the very best chefs, at the top of their different culinary fields to offer such a wide range of dining options to our guests. From embracing the best of Japan in our new sushi and sake bar to dining al-fresco in Tramonto or enjoying a pub meal in the Golden Lion, there really will be something for everyone.”
