Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth has resumed service after a scheduled 12-day repair and refit project at Damen Shiprepair Brest (DSBr).

Working alongside multiple third-party teams, DBSr carried out maintenance work on Queen Elizabeth’s stabilisers, ABB Azipods, bow thrusters and water intakes. At the same time, other engineers installed twin exhaust gas cleaning systems and completed pipe and ducting work, removing two cabins to accommodate the additional equipment. Multiple cabins and corridors, the spa and part of the retail area were also refurbished.

Queen Elizabeth’s hull and topsides were also cleaned and repainted, while DBSr performed routine maintenance on her lifeboats, liferafts and tenders.

The project, which was managed by DBSr, was completed a day earlier than scheduled.
