Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam has completed a scheduled, five-week maintenance project onboard the 46,052gt cruise ship Magellan at its yard in the Netherlands.

Significant steel repairs were also carried out in the aft peak tank and the clutch e-motor was upgraded.
“Overall, the project went smoothly due to close cooperation between the vessel’s management, the shipyard and, last but not least, a very cooperative crew,” said Ruud Haneveer, commercial manager of offshore at Damen Shiprepair & Conversion. “The timescale was very challenging given the scope of the work required, but the quality of our facilities and the expertise of our workforce ensured that everything was successfully completed on time.”
Magellan, which carries 1,250 guests, is due to depart London Tilbury in the UK on 4 June to sail a three-day cruise to Amsterdam and Antwerp in Belgium.
