Danish cruise ports (excluding Copenhagen) are expected to welcome 103 cruise calls and 113,195 guests in 2016, an increase from 74 visits and 45,572 passengers in 2014.
According to figures released by the Cruise Copenhagen Network (CCN) at Seatrade Cruise Global in Fort Lauderdale, Aarhus, Denmark’s second largest city, will welcome 14 part-turnarounds and 80,000 passengers in 2016, more than double compared to 29,000 in 2015.
Meanwhile, the port of Aalborg has continued to break its own cruise ship records, with cruise ship numbers more than doubling over the past three years. A total of 21 vessels will visit in 2016 and 32 will call in 2017.
Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital city, will host 139 turnarounds this year – higher than in 2014 and 2015 – and in 2017, the port expects to welcome a record 850,000 passengers.
