Contractor De Wave Group has completed four 2021 outfitting projects onboard newly built cruise ships, including Holland America Line’s Rotterdam, MSC Cruises’ MSC Seashore, Viking Cruises’ Viking Venus and Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady.

Work on Rotterdam focused on the spa, gym and beauty salon areas, including massage rooms, a gym, fitness area and dressing rooms, and a beauty and hair salon. De Wave Group also outfitted a thermal complex comprising a Turkish bath with mosaic walls and cupola ceiling, sauna, swimming pool, horizontal shower and chromotherapy showers. The ship was delivered at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard on 30 July.

On MSC Seashore, De Wave Group coordinated a team on 80 workers to outfit areas of the MSC Yacht Club, an outdoor steakhouse and an ice cream bar. The contractor also carried out work on the arcade and a bar on deck 20, as well as installing pools, a Jacuzzi and an infinity whirlpool. MSC Seashore was then delivered at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard on 31 July.

De Wave Group’s work onboard Viking Venus included outfitting the health centre, spa area and retail walkway ahead of the ship’s delivery at Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard on 15 April. Finally, the company worked onboard Valiant Lady to help complete the construction of the Area VI family Pool, the Area VII Open Deck, passenger and crew cabins and passenger and crew wet units. The Valiant Lady was delivered at Fincantieri’s Sestri P. shipyard on 1 July.

The total value of all four orders comes to approximately €70 million ($81.2 million), while further projects totalling in the region of €26 million ($30.2 million) are set to be completed by the end of the year.

“We are proud to have played a key role in helping these four leaders in high-end cruising make a strong return to the waves,” said Riccardo Pompili, CEO of De Wave Group. “Their trust and class-leading creativity have once again enabled us to showcase our diverse, industry-leading skills. We look forward to telling the world about the exciting projects we are currently working on as the respective ships launch in the coming months.”
