Deltamarin is to provide Finland-based Rauma Marine Constructions shipyard with design services for the ro-pax vessel it is building for Danish ferry operator Mols-Linien.

As part of the €3 million contract, Deltamarin will deliver basic and detailed designs for the hull outfitting, machinery and cargo areas. The work will be carried out at Deltamarin’s offices in Finland and Poland over a 12-month period.

“This ship contract is very important for Rauma Marine Constructions,” said Janne Uotila, director of engineering management at Deltamarin. “We are proud to have a major role in this project, and to assist the shipyard in building up the new future of shipbuilding in Rauma. Mols-Linien’s order is a proof of the strong passenger vessel know-how in Finland.”

Mols-Linien’s new 158m ro-pax vessel will carry passengers and cargo between the Danish islands of Bornholm and Sjaelland. Construction will start in spring 2017 and the vessel will enter service in autumn 2018.
