Disney Treasure has arrived at its homeport of Port Canaveral ahead of its maiden voyage.
Following maritime tradition, executives from Port Canaveral and Disney Cruise Line participated in a plaque exchange ceremony, celebrating the ship’s maiden call in the USA.
“Disney Cruise Line has been a longtime partner of Port Canaveral, and we’re thrilled to welcome this newest addition to its fleet which will provide guests with unforgettable vacation experiences,” said Captain John Murray, CEO of Port Canaveral. “Disney Treasure is the latest chapter of the continued growth at our port, and we couldn’t be prouder and more honoured to serve as the homeport for this amazing ship.”
The 140,000gt Disney Treasure will sail on its maiden voyage on 21 December 2024, embarking on a seven-day sailing visiting Tortola, St. Thomas and Disney’s private island Castaway Cay. The voyage will launch a year-round schedule of seven-day sailings from Port Canaveral, which will call at ports in the Eastern and Western Caribbean and The Bahamas.
The ship is the second of Disney’s Wish-class vessels. It is also the third Disney vessel to homeport in Port Canaveral, joining its sister ship Disney Wish and the Dream-class ship Disney Fantasy.
