Eniram has launched Eniram Performance 3.0 for cruise vessels, a tool that helps ship operators to save fuel by optimising energy management onboard vessels.
Already operational onboard Royal Caribbean International’s Quantum of the Seas and two other cruise ships, the new system analyses several variable factors – such as wind and currents – to predict the amount of energy and fuel a ship will need during each journey.
Eniram Performance 3.0’s intuitive widget features a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) screen that shows traffic light values against commonly agreed targets for factors such as total fuel consumption and the energy required to power propulsion, hotel, machinery and HVAC systems. The widget also features a visual energy tree to show the predicted and actual fuel consumption for the ship’s whole voyage, in both monetary and Megawatt-hours values.
This allows officers, engineers and onshore personnel to continually monitor and discuss the overall performance of the vessel, enabling them to make operational changes to ensure optimal fuel and energy use. Crew can also use benchmark graphs and reports to monitor selected performance parameters and performance deviations to identify key areas for potential fuel and cost savings.
