Eniram, a provider of energy management technology and analytic services to the shipping industry, has released Eniram Speed 3.0 to help ship operators reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
Speed 3.0 takes into account factors such as the prevailing weather and sea conditions, weather forecasts, required engine loads, speed and emission restrictions and more to recommend the best speed profile and sailing route. This will enable operators to lower the ship’s energy consumption and save fuel costs.
The software also includes new features such as combined sea current and tidal data, map-assisted route setup, map-assisted USB route uploading and Furuno FMD ECDIS support. Real-time weather forecasts are now also supported for cruise vessels.
“Thanks to these new enhancements, ship operators will be able to better plan, operate and maintain timely voyages at the lowest possible fuel consumption,” said Jussi Pyörre, vice president of Technology at Eniram. “Using Speed 3.0 means there is less to configure and savings are achieved easier. On average, operators can expect savings between 2% to 6%.”
