Holland America Line’s Eurodam visited the Port of Tyne in North East England on 5 July, marking the first time the ship has called at the port since 2012.

Berthing at Northumbrian Quay at 6am, the ship arrived as part of a 12-day roundtrip, which started in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 25 June and included calls in the Norwegian ports of Oslo, Kristiansand and Stavanger, the Scottish Highlands and Edinburgh. After the ship left the Port of Tyne at around 5pm, it returned to Denmark.

Eurodam’s 2,104 passengers – which mainly consisted of Americans, Canadians and Western Europeans – visited some of the North East’s iconic attractions including Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Hadrian's Wall and Durham Cathedral and city.

“It is a welcome return of Eurodam, which at 290m long and 86,700gt is one of the largest ships to visit the port,” said Mike Nicholson, harbour master at the Port of Tyne. “We hope that passengers enjoyed their time ashore in the region and we look forward to welcoming Holland America Line back to the Port of Tyne when the cruise line returns with more cruise calls next summer.”
