Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ Europa 2 made her maiden call at Portsmouth International Port (PIP) on 2 June.

Arriving at around 8am from Honfleur in France, the 225m ship brought 500 guests to the UK port to explore various landmarks. The ship will also be carrying British singer Kim Wilde, who will be headlining the entertainment onboard Europa 2 during her 13-day ‘Rediscover Old Europe’ cruise.

Europa 2 will depart Portsmouth for St. Peter Port in Guernsey at 9pm.

“I’ll be delighted to present the captain of Europa 2 with a plaque commemorating this important ship’s first visit to our city,” said Captain Rupert Taylor, Harbour Master at PIP. “Europa 2 really is one of the world’s leading cruise liners and shows how operators such as Hapag-Lloyd are happy to trust us with their precious flag ships and clientele. I hope that we will be seeing her again in the near future.”

PIP is scheduled to welcome six additional calls this June.
