Norwegian Cruise Line has launched an online contest asking fans in five countries to help select the names for its two new, 4,200-passenger Breakaway Plus ships.

The Norwegians Name Their Ships Facebook contest will see residents from Germany, Spain, Canada, the US and the UK choosing two names from a list of the line’s top ten. These include Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Discovery, Norwegian Dreamaway, Norwegian Escape, Norwegian Journey, Norwegian Muse, Norwegian Passion, Norwegian Sailaway, Norwegian Treasure and Norwegian Triton.

“We know that nothing makes our community more excited than the anticipation of our new ship launches and these two are our largest and most innovative ships ever,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian’s CEO. “It’s so important to us to involve our community of Norwegians in this exciting process. We have listed name options that speak to the character of our brand and allude to the uniqueness of Freestyle Cruising.”

Voters will be entered into a competition to win a trip for two on the first of the 163,000 gt Breakaway Plus ship for her inaugural festivities. As part of the prize, each regional winner will receive a round-trip coach airfare for two, ground transportation, double occupancy balcony stateroom accommodation and onboard meals.

The contest will run until 24 September 2013.
