One crew member has died and four others have been critically injured during a lifeboat drill onboard Royal Caribbean International’s Harmony of the Seas on 13 September.
According to reports, all five crew members were completing a safety drill in the lifeboat when it became detached from the ship and into the water. The ship was berthed in Marseille, France at the time.
“We are sorry to share the sad news that a crew member aboard Harmony of the Seas has died of injuries suffered during a lifeboat drill conducted while docked at the port of Marseille, France,” said a spokesperson for Royal Caribbean. “Four other crew members received medical treatment in the same incident. We are keeping our colleagues and their families in our thoughts and prayers.”
