Fathom, Carnival Corporation & plc’s recently launched social impact travel brand, has become a preferred supplier with Signature Travel Network, a network of retail travel agencies.

As a preferred Signature supplier, Fathom will be able to market its voyages to travellers via a cooperative travel network of 205 member organisations across 442 locations in the US and Canada. These include multi-location organisations, single location boutique travel specialists, cruise-only agencies and internet-based marketers.

“As a company that has created an entirely new category of travel, it is important for Fathom to have savvy business partners to engage social impact travelers – many of whom have been hungry to make an impact, but have not known where to begin,” said Tara Russell, president of Fathom. “The Signature travel professionals are known for having lasting relationships with travellers seeking one-of-a-kind experiences and we feel fortunate to have a preferred partnership with them to effectively connect with our target audience of travellers.”

Launched in June 2015, Fathom was developed to enable passengers to take a seven-day ‘social impact’ cruise onboard the 710-passenger Adonia and participate in various projects to improve education, the environment and the economy in underprivileged communities. Initial estimates suggest 37,000 annual travellers will collectively spend a total of more than 100,000 days per year volunteering via Fathom.

Fathom will debut next April with voyages to Amber Cove – Carnival’s new cruise port in the Puerto Plata region of the Dominican Republic – where guests will work with local volunteers on projects led by local organisations Entrena and the Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral.

The line aims to offer the first of its planned seven-day voyages to Cuba at the start of May 2016 and is currently working to finalise Cuban approval.
