The Gulf of Cambay in northwestern India intends issuing global tender to private sector parties interested in establishing a ferry service from two new ro-ro ferry terminals being built by the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB).
The proposed service will be transporting passengers and vehicles between the western coastline of southern and central Gujarat, and the eastern coast of Saurashtra, while operating from the new terminals, Gogha to the West and Dahej to the East.
New ferries are expected to reduce the pressure on the existing roads and rail networks of the surrounding area, saving passengers time and money.
Beckett Rankine, project consultants for GMB, is organising two roadshows, one in Mumbai on 11 June and nother in London on 28 June, to inform potential operators about the project.
