The Ferry Shipping Summit 2024 will take place on 7-8 November in Athens, Greece.
The two-day event will explore ways ferry operators and ports can improve operations, as well as enhance networking and idea exchanges with industry colleagues. The 2024 event will focus on ‘exploring a green, safe, profitable and digital route map’ and has been designed to deepen participants’ understanding of challenges and opportunities within the industry.
The programme features panel discussions, including a ‘state and strategic situation of the industry’ by Bo-Lennart Thorbjörnsson, co-founder and owner of the conference, as well as numerous other presentations featuring executives from ferry lines, including Baleària, DFDS, Fjord Line, P&O Ferries and others. Representatives from Port of Ystad in Sweden, Port of Portsmouth in the UK, and the Port of Patras, Port of Pireaus and Port of Thessaloniki in Greece will also host presentations, as will several shipbuilders.
On 7 November, sessions will focus on efficient and seamless crewing systems, the importance of modern IT systems and collaborative data accuracy, efficient freight and port terminal systems, safe navigation systems, optimised propulsion systems, and more. Sessions on 8 November will explore green ferry operations, durable and safe marine batteries, the digitalisation of electric vessels, and more.
