French cruise operator Compagnie du Ponant took delivery of its new flagship, Le Soléal, at Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard in Italy, on 28 June.
Sailing under the French flag, the 142-metre yacht accommodates more than 260 passengers in 132 cabins and suites, and is able to visit destinations that are inaccessible to larger vessels.
As the third of three cruise ships built for the line by Fincantieri, Le Soléal has many of the features onboard sister vessels Le Boréal and L'Austral including the latest technology to reduce its noise, vibration and environmental impact.
Le Soléal will also feature higher installed power, a range of public areas, a different coloured hull and an energy-saving, LED lighting system designed and installed by Fincantieri’s in-house team.
The cruise yacht has been awarded clean ship, comfort class and ice class certification by International classification society Bureau Veritas.
