Shipbuilder Fincantieri has successfully launched the first Four Seasons Yachts ship, Four Seasons I, at its yard in Ancona, Italy.
A float out ceremony traditionally marks the moment at which a new vessel floats on water for the first time, before being moved to a wet dock for the final phase of construction. The ceremony includes words and prayers from a priest for the ship and its workers.
The event was attended by leaders from Fincantieri, including chairman Biagio Mazzotta and the CEO and managing director, Pierroberto Folgiero. Also present was Nadim Ashi, owner and executive chairman of Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings, joint owner of Four Seasons Yachts, and Proper Assoiline, creative director of Four Seasons Yachts.
“This wonderful, milestone event is only possible because of the hard work, commitment, and expert craftsmanship of all those involved in the creation of Four Seasons I,” said Ashi. “I know I speak for everyone in attendance today when I say it is an honour to be joined by the many men and women whose dedication and expertise has allowed us to witness this monumental moment. And I cannot think of a better way to start our official one-year countdown to the January 2026 debut of this extraordinary vessel, which will redefine luxury at sea in every way imaginable.”
Leadership and workers from Fincantieri and Four Seasons Yachts celebrated the milestone
Four Seasons I will be 34,000gt, 207 metres long, and will have 95 suites onboard. Each suite features terrace decks, measuring up to 257 square meters in the largest accommodation onboard, the Funnel Suite.
“The float out marks a key milestone in bringing Four Seasons personalised service and renowned experiences to the seas,” said Alejandro Reynal, president and CEO of Four Seasons. “As we continue our strategic growth, we are creating a luxury ecosystem where guests can stay, live, and travel with a brand they know and trust. Our entry into luxury yachting is a key part of this vision, and with one year until we set sail, the excitement and momentum continues to build.”
Four Seasons 1 will depart on its first sailing on 25 January 2026.
