Viking Cruises’ Viking Sky is to make the first call of the 2022 cruise season at the Port of Thessaloniki in Greece on 5 February, marking the earliest ever start to a season at the port. 

Viking Cruises is one of 11 companies to include Thessaloniki on their itineraries, alongside Azamara Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Celestyal Cruises, CroisEurope, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, Mano Cruises, Noble Caledonia, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Silversea Cruises.  

A total of 55 calls by 15 different ships have been confirmed so far for 2022, 55 per cent of which will by ships homeporting in Thessaloniki. 

"We are constantly upgrading the spectrum and quality of our services, building further relationships of mutual trust with cruise lines to promote and attract cruise vessels to the port in order to support the economy and society by increasing tourist traffic,” said Athanasios Liagkos, executive chairman of the board of directors at Thessaloniki Port Authority. “Our goal is to promote the destinations, experiences and the various opportunities of the wider region.”
