The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Nice and Cote d’Azur has partnered with tourism network French Riviera Cruise Club (FRCC) and Royal Caribbean International to donate toys and games to schoolchildren in Haiti.

The donations, which were shipped from Villefranche-sur-Mer onboard Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas on 22 October, were collected as part of the cruise line’s humanitarian scheme.

Last year, books and school materials collected by participants in Villefranche-sur-Mer were transported on Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas – which regularly calls at the Bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer – to a school in Haiti. The supplies were delivered in late December and enabled the school to complete its library construction project. The surplus of books was sent to other public schools, while medical aid was collected by the Red Cross.

While in Haiti, Royal Caribbean also highlghted the importance of protecting the environment to elementary school children.
