Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ 804-guest ship Black Watch is to start her new cruise season from the Scottish port of Rosyth in Edinburgh on 31 July 2014.

Opening with a ten-night sailing to the Norwegian fjords, Black Watch’s Rosyth season will include a 13-night Baltic voyage to Scandinavia and St Petersburg in August and an 11-night France, Spain and Guernsey cruise in September.

Black Watch’s 2014 cruise season in Rosyth will sit in between the ship’s seven calls at the Port of Tyne in Newcastle in July, September and October.

“The Olsen family has close links with Scotland and is committed to offering Scottish guests a range of itineraries and destinations to choose from: in fact, we will be increasing the number of sailings that we offer from Rosyth from four in 2014/2015 to five in 2015-2016,” said Nathan Philpot, sales and marketing director of Fred. Olsen. “So, we would like to encourage our loyal Scottish guests to take the chance to see more of the world with Fred. Olsen, from right on their doorstep.”

In summer 2015, Fred. Olsen’s 880-guest Boudicca will sail five cruises from Rosyth including a seven-night ‘Land of the Vikings’ cruise to Norway on 1 June 2015 and a 16-night ‘Poison, Murder & Mystery Cruise’ on 10 July 2015. The cruise will link the Poison Gardens in Northumberland’s Alnwick Castle in the UK and Guimar, Tenerife. This itinerary is a first for any cruise line and the interactive murder mystery cruise was unveiled at an exclusive launch at The Tower of London, hosted by The Duchess of Northumberland and Fred Olsen Senior on 24 July 2014.

Fred. Olsen will also be offering two sailings from Greenock (Glasgow) in September 2014, to the Norwegian fjords and Portugal and the Azores.
