Disney Cruise Line is to bring the characters of Disney’s popular animated film Frozen to its ships this summer.
Debuting on select Disney Magic and Disney Wonder sailings to Europe and Alaska, the immersive Frozen programme will include activities inspired by the film such as a themed deck party, a three-song stage show production, character meet and greets, onshore storybook adventures and more.
One day per cruise, crew will transform the ship into a ‘winter wonderland’ and guests will be able to participate in various Frozen-themed activities inlcuding an ‘Anna’s Chase for the Chocolate’ scavenger hunt, a ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman’ activity, and ‘The Maypole Swirl and Twirl’ activity which enables families to learn a traditional Scandinavian dance with ribbons.
Guests will then be able to enjoy a Frozen-themed dining experience, including traditional Nordic cuisine and dishes inspired by the film.
Later that evening, families can enjoy the interactive ‘Freezing the Night Away with Anna, Elsa and Friends’ deck party. Taking place on the upper decks, which will be decorated with large snowflakes, icicles and snow-covered rocks, the party will feature a line dance set to an ice-cutting scene from the movie. Several characters will participate in the party including Kristoff, Princess Anna and Elsa. Guests will be able to join in a rendition of Academy Award-winning song ‘Let it Go’ and ‘In Summer’. Three other characters will appear virtually and play games with the audience.
The evening will conclude with a family party on the pool deck and an adults-only party in the nightclub featuring dance performances and frozen speciality drinks.
In addition, Disney Magic will host the first of the ‘Disney Dreams … An Enchanted Classic’ productions, which will include scenes featuring Frozen characters and three of the film’s most popular songs: ‘Let it Go’, ‘For the First Time in Forever’ and ‘In Summer.’ Special effects include snowfall throughout the theatre.
Meanwhile, several of the film’s main characters – Olaf, Anna and Elsa – will sail onboard Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, Disney Wonder and Disney Magic to participate in meet and greet opportunities.
Guests sailing on Disney Magic to Norway, the country that inspired Arendelle in Frozen, will be able to participate in onshore Port Adventures excursions.
For example, guests will be able to participate in an exclusive Disney excursion to Ålesund and visit the natural wonders, architecture and Scandinavian culture that inspired the film.
Seven and nine-night voyages begin 6 June and will take guests through the Norwegian fjords, calling at ports such as Stavanger, Ålesund, Geiranger, Molde, Olden and Bergen, Norway.
The Frozen theme will also hit Disney’s private Caribbean island Castaway Cay this summer. Located near the Pelican Point tram stop by Castaway Cay Family Beach, Olaf’s Summertime Freeze bar will serve non-alcoholic frozen drinks in souvenir cups.”
