Dream Cruises’ first-ever cruise ship left Meyer Werft’s shipyard in Papenburg, Germany on 18 September, ahead of initial testing and sea trials.

Construction started at Meyer Werft in February 2015 and the ship has now been conveyed down the river Ems in Germany to Eemshaven, Netherlands, where she will undergo tests. The vessel will then head to Bremerhaven, Germany for additional sea trials.

Meyer Weft will officially hand Genting Dream over to Dream Cruises on 12 October. The ship will then depart Germany and sail to her homeport in Guangzhou, China via Gibraltar, the Mediterranean Sea, the Suez Canal and the Indian Ocean. She will visit India, Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong before arriving in Guangzhou on 13 November.

Genting Dream will be able to accommodate 3,400 guests in 1,674 staterooms, including the ‘Dream Mansion’, an exclusive ‘ship-within-a-ship’ complex featuring two floors of suites with European-style butler service.

Guests will also enjoy Chinese regional, Asian and international cuisine in 35 bars and restaurants, as well as various entertainment options and venues. Highlights will include China’s Got Talent – The Dream Experience, a 45-minute theatrical representation of the worldwide TV series, and the first at-sea Zouk nightclub.
