Norwegian Cruise Lines’ newbuild, Norwegian Getaway, is to float out of her Meyer Werft berthing dock on 2 November, after several weeks of extensive tests and machinery trials.
Around 12 months since building began, the 146,600 gt cruise vessel will leave cover at 3.30pm – weather permitting – before undergoing harbour tests and berthing at the shipyard’s outfitting pier. Once completed, the first crewmembers will board to begin familiarising themselves with the ship and its many systems.
Getaway will then make her way down the Ems river to the North Sea around mid-November, where she will prove her seaworthiness.
The shipyard will be broadcasting the vessel's float out via webcam from www.meyerwerft.com.
