Global Ports Holding is to manage cruise services at Ha Long International Cruise Port in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam for the next 15 years after signing an agreement with owner Ha Long Sun.

Ha Long International Cruise Port is Vietnam’s first purpose-built cruise port and the second in GPH’s portfolio in Asia. The facility can accommodate the world’s largest cruise ships and is located within the Sun World Halong Complex, an expansive entertainment and recreation area. The port expects to have handled more than 75,000 passengers by the end of 2019. Forecasts suggests passenger numbers will surpass 100,000 in 2020.

“This agreement marks a truly historic moment for GPH and marks an important inflection point in our growth aspirations in Asia,” said Emre Sayin, CEO of GPH. “The GPH team very much looks forward to working with our partner, the cruise lines and the people of the Quang Ninh Province to turn this iconic location into a leading cruise port in the region."
