Princess Cruises is to homeport the 2,600-guest Grand Princess in Singapore for the first time in 2020-2021 following her transformation into a MedallionClass ship in March 2020.

Grand Princess will arrive in Singapore on 10 December 2020 after a new 53-day ‘Pacific Crossing & Asia’ itinerary that begins in Vancouver, Canada and takes guests to 26 ports. Guests are also able to opt for a shorter version of the cruise by taking embarking the ship in Los Angeles, California and disembarking or embarking in Shanghai, China.

Replacing Sapphire Princess, Grand Princess will then offer an inaugural season of four-to 21-day cruises from Singapore until March 2021. The ship will visit destinations across Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia.

Grand Princess will also bring Princess Cruises’ new Ocean Medallion experience to Singapore for the first time. Designed to offer guests a fully personalised cruise experience, the Ocean Medallion can be worn or carried by passengers to anticipate their every onboard need. The fully automated device gives guests access to personalised dining experiences, interactive entertainment and games, wayfinding capabilities, transaction-free payments and expedited embarkation and disembarkation. Other benefits include touch-free access to staterooms, enhanced interactions with crew members and other guests, and the ability to connect to portals throughout the ship to see a real-time overview of shipboard events and activities.

“We are absolutely thrilled to announce Grand Princess homeporting in Singapore which marks a significant milestone for Princess Cruises,” said Farriek Tawfik, director for Princess Cruises in Southeast Asia. “This gives us an opportunity to deliver new enriching experiences, creating excitement and sparking interest among guests while providing travel advisors with a brand-new product to add to their portfolios.”

MedallionClass Vacations will be available on Caribbean Princess, Regal Princess, Royal Princess and Crown Princess by the end of July, while Sky Princess will be the first ship to be built from the ground up with the technology platform when she debuts on 12 October 2019. Six additional ships will offer MedallionClass Vacations in 2020 – Ruby Princess from 27 January, Grand Princess from 29 March, Enchanted Princess from 15 June, Emerald Princess from 16 August, Coral Princess from 16 October and Island Princess from 20 December.
