The keynote for GreenPort Congress & Cruise, which will take place at Haropa Port in Le Havre, France, from 23-25 October 2024, will discuss the priorities and challenges of meeting net-zero emissions targets. 

The ‘Building a Sustainable Future: Priorities & Challenges for Meeting Net-Zero' keynote will take place on the first day of the event, which will be moderated by Chris Wooldridge of EcoPorts. Wooldridge will be joined by Isabelle Ryckbost, secretary general of European Sea Ports Organisation; Lamia Kerdjoudj, secretary general of FEPORT; Antonis Michail, technical director of International Association of Ports and Harbors and its World Ports Sustainability Program; and Stephane Raison, director general of Haropa Port.  

Additionally, Cedric Verciglio, strategic planning director of Haropa Port, will present in the ‘Resourcing the Transition to Sustainability’ session, and Hervé Geraud, onshore power supply expert at Haropa Port, and Roland Teixeira, president of European Onshore Power Supply Association, will discuss alternative fuel solutions and electrification. Megan Turner, environment and sustainability manager at Port of Dover, will provide an update on the port’s progress on establishing green corridors, while Valeria Mangiarotti, marketing manager at Port System Authority of the Sardinian Sea, will present on sustainability investments and projects in the Mediterranean. 

The event programme includes a broad variety of presentations from key experts, companies and organisations in the port sector, which will address the challenges of compliance, protection and sustainability within an evolving global and political landscape.  

Topics covered will include renewable energy, green corridors, infrastructure development, port and cruise terminal expansion and more. The event will culminate with a tour of Le Havre Port, during which representatives will share insights into current infrastructure development and emission reduction projects.
