GreenPort Congress and Cruise is to cover climate change, energy efficiency, waste management, carbon neutral ports, digitalisation, innovation and may other topics when it takes place at the Alcântara Maritime Station at Port of Lisbon in Portugal from 18-20 October 2023.

The 18th GreenPort Congress and Cruise will bring together stakeholders from across the whole port community for more than 40 presentations and talks, with representatives from Port of Lisbon on hand to discuss current developments in sustainability at the port. The event will be opened by João Galamba, Portuguese Minister of Infrastructure, who will share governmental insights in his keynote speech.

The European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) will release the eighth annual Environmental Report and the first ECO SLC Report at the event. The Environmental Report provides insights on the environmental issues European ports are working on to enable ESPO and European policymakers to determine which initiatives to take on.

Other programme highlights will include a talk on Global Ports Holding’s expansion and its strategies for developing future-ready cruise ports; a presentation from the Port of Helsinki on becoming a carbon-neutral port; Cavotec discussing the options ports have in their carbon neutrality journeys; APM Terminals talking about decarbonising terminal operations; a ‘Waste Management and Circular Economy’ session featuring the European Maritime Safety Agency; a panel discussing offshore renewables and alternative energies; and many more. Networking sessions and workshops will also be held during the two-day event.
