GreenPort Congress & Cruise, a three day conference for the port community covering the latest in sustainable environmental practice, is to feature a session on the electrification of ports, cruise terminals and equipment.
The session will begin with a presentation by Herve Geraud, onshore power supply (OPS) expert for Haropa Port, on the electrification of Haropa Port that will include details of its cruise terminal and equipment. Haropa Port, which is the fifth largest port complex in Europe, aims to electrify all cruise docks by 2026.
Roland Teixeria, president of the European Onshore Power Supply Association, will then cover his organisation’s strategy with a focus on the business case behind OPS. Danish equipment provider PoweCon will then share insights into scaling customised shore power using standardised modules to create shore power solutions for ports worldwide.
Martin Tiling, head of shore power for high-performance polymer manufacturer IGUS will then discuss solutions to the technical difficulties of connecting a ship to shore power, using best practices from the Port of Hamburg as an example.
