Grenada has begun its 2022-2023 cruise season with the arrival of Celebrity Summit at its capital city, St George’s.
A total of 202 cruise calls are scheduled in the country this season, carrying an estimated 377,394 passengers, an increase of 11 per cent over the record high in 2018-2019.
“The cruise sector is important for Grenada as it generates substantial economic activity,” said Randall Dolland, chairman of the board of the Grenada Tourism Authority. “The GTA is committed to improving Grenada’s product offering and increasing the number of ships and calls to our ports. In addition, we want to ensure further employment opportunities for our people.”
