Guernsey, one of the Channel Islands, is set to receive a total of 147,260 passengers and 95 cruise ships this year, including 12 new vessels making their inaugural visits to the island.
Guernsey port’s cruise season began on 15 April with the arrival of Plantours Kreuzfahrten’s Hamburg and will end on 22 October with a call from MSC Cruises’ MSC Euribia.
Ships due to make maiden visits to the island include Ambassador Cruise Line’s Ambition, MSC Euribia, National Geographic’s NG Resolution, Oceania Cruises’ Riviera, Ponant’s Le Bellot and Le Champlain, Princess Cruises’ Regal Princess, Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Seven Seas Splendor and Silversea Cruises’ Silver Endeavour, Silver Dawn and Silver Shadow.
Some of the shore excursion highlights for guests calling at the port include visiting the German Underground Hospital, which was used by German occupying forces between 1940 and 1945; coastal walks along the South Coast cliffs; and tasting Guernsey’s sustainable Rocquette Cider.
