Hainan Cruises plans to sell its 23,278gt cruise ship Aegean Paradise to New Century Maritime of Hong Kong.
According to a memorandum of agreement signed on 24 July, the Bahamas-flagged ship will be sold to Kingston Maritime, a wholly owned subsidiary of New Century Maritime, for US$22.89 million.
Aegean Paradise, which was built in 1990, will be delivered to Kingston Maritime at ST Marine Shipyard in Singapore. The ship will join Leisure World and Amusement World, enabling New Century Maritime to expand its cruise ship charter services business.
“With the steady outlook of the tourism industry in Singapore, the group expects that its cruise ship charter services business segment will continue to bring positive contribution,” said New Century Maritime in a written statement.
New Century Maritime is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of New Century Group Hong Kong.
