Hebridean Island Cruises’ Hebridean Princess is to close the Port of Milford Haven’s 2015 cruise season on 29 August.
The ship, which will spend 24 hours at the UK port, will be welcomed by HM Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed; The Honourable Robin Lewis OBE CStJ; Wynne Evans, the chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council; and other civic dignitaries.
Passengers will be able to watch a birds of prey display and a magic show before touring Pembroke Castle and the National Trust’s Woodland Garden at Colby. They will then return to the ship and enjoy a performance by local harpist Joy Cornock during dinner.
Hebridean Princess, which carries just 50 guests and 38 crew, will then head to her homeport in Oban, Scotland, stopping off at Holyhead, the Isle of Man and Dublin en route.
“While weather-wise we can’t say it has been the best summer, we have still had thousands of cruise passengers on six ships land in Pembrokeshire this year,” said Alec Don, chief executive at the Port of Milford Haven. “It just shows the enduring attraction that this area has to offer, with great places to visit, wonderful shops and restaurants, all in easy reach of the port.”
