Holland America Line has expanded its collection of immersive culinary-themed FOOD & WINE EXC Tours by creating 20 new shore excursions in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Canada and New England.
Developed in partnership with FOOD & WINE magazine, the tours give guests the opportunity to participate in hands-on cooking classes with top restaurant chefs, take culinary walking tours, visit wineries, sample street food and more.
“We’ve expanded our exclusive FOOD & WINE tours due to their overwhelming popularity, as food is a universal language that connects travelers with the cultures they visit in a deeply immersive way,” said Orlando Ashford, president of Holland America Line. “We’re excited to add this special tour programme in several new locations so our guests can discover the diverse flavours of the many different places we visit through these unique and authentic experiences.”
Holland America has introduced a total of 14 new FOOD & WINE EXC Tours in Bangkok, Thailand; Shanghai, China; Singapore; Taipei, Taiwan; Yokohama, Japan; Hobart, Tasmania; Melbourne and Sydney, Australia; and Napier and Dunedin, New Zealand. Highlights will include visits to multiple markets in Asia and wineries in New Zealand and Tasmania, as well as the chance to dine at so-called ‘tough-to-get-a-table’ restaurants in Australia.
Meanwhile, the six new tours in Canada and New England will take place in Bar Harbor and Portland, Maine; Halifax, Nova Scotia; Boston, Massachusetts; and Québec City, Québec.
Holland America, which introduced 23 culinary tours on select cruises in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe earlier this year, will continue to expand the programme over the next year in destinations like the Caribbean, Mexico, Panama Canal, South America and Hawaii.
