The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s new luxury superyacht Ilma showcased interiors created by British design agency AD Associates when it embarked on its seven-night maiden voyage from Monaco to Rome, Italy, last week

AD Associates worked in collaboration with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and Marriott International on the ship’s ultra-luxury interiors.

As Ilma means ‘water’ in Maltese, AD Associates incorporated elements of Malta’s mythology, coastline, history and native fauna into the interior designs, textiles and colour palette. The interiors include a “refined yet naturally inspired” core palette, comprising fresh tones and textures juxtaposed with rich, dark features and repeated architectural details.

“With an aesthetic influenced by superyacht design cues, Ilma’s defining feature is its seamless integration of spaces, fostering a profound connection to the sea,” said Chris Finch, founder and CEO at AD Associates. “A harmonious flow of geometry and texture between the interior and exterior creates a cohesive and tranquil atmosphere.”

The superyacht, which is the second in the fleet, accommodates up to 448 guests in 224 suites with private ocean-view terraces. The ship also features indoor communal areas designed to encourage connection among guests, and a pool deck on Deck 10 which acts as an entertainment hub for sailaway parties, themed events and movie screenings.
