Incat Crowther has delivered a 224-passenger catamaran ferry to Utila Ferry.

Designed specifically for rough water operation and built by Midship Marine in Louisiana, US, the 30m Utila Dream operates the 21-mile route between the island of Utila and the mainland city of La Ceiba in Honduras. The ferry is powered by a pair of Cummins KTA38 main engines rated to 1,007 kW, allowing it to run at a service speed of 28 knots.

The ferry offers 112 seats on the main deck, 32 outdoor seats on the foredeck, 82 exterior sears on the upper deck – which also features a bar and a VIP cabin with 18 large executive-style seats.

Utila Dream has also been fitted with wet and dry cargo rooms, which are accessed via three separate lifting ramps on each side of the vessel. The aft ramps serve the cargo rooms, while the remaining ramps serve passenger spaces with all passenger movement being segregated from freight movement.
