Incat Crowther is to build a 63m monohull passenger ferry for an undisclosed Central American operator.

Designed to accommodate 650 passengers, the ferry will feature a main deck with four passenger loading stations, 286 first-class seats, 20 lounge seats, four disabled seating areas and a children’s play area. The aft deck will offer public toilets and a cargo room with cargo loading gates.

Meanwhile, the mid-deck has a cabin with 144 first-class seats and 32 lounge seats, while 112 exterior seats and a mini bar with a stage are located behind the cabin. The upper deck has a large observation area with 36 exterior seats.

The ferry will be powered by five MTU 16V400M63L engines and propelled by five Hamilton HM-811 jets, allowing it to operate at a service speed of 37 knots. Two 150ekW generator sets will provide electricity and a 200hp bow thruster will enable the ferry to be manoeuvred easily.
