Incat Crowther has delivered the 26 m catamaran Spirit of Queenstown to Southern Discoveries of New Zealand.

Built by Aluminium Marine in Queensland, the 170-guest ferry is powered by fixed pitch propellers and two Yanmar 6HYM-WET, 478 kilowatt main engines, enabling it to reach speeds in excess of 27 knots.

Designed by Incat in accordance with New Zealand’s environmental regulations, the vessel burns low volumes of fuel and features durable operating systems, indoor and outdoor seating, a concessions kiosk, a wheelhouse and overhead bicycle hangers.

Spirit of Queenstown will operate on Queenstown’s environmentally sensitive Lake Wakatipu.
