Incat Crowther has delivered Provincetown IV, a 30 m catamaran passenger ferry to Bay State Cruise Company of Boston, Massachusetts.

Based on the design of Provincetown III – which was delivered by Gladding Hearn Shipbuilding of Massachusetts in 2004 – the 149-passenger vessel is powered by two MTU 16V2000 M72 main engines, each producing 1122 kW. It also features a trim tab ride control system to reduce vessel motions, improving both performance and efficiency. During sea trials, Provincetown IV cruised at 30 knots with a full load deadweight and reached top speeds in excess of 32 knots.

Provincetown IV features interior and exterior seating, a large bar, toilet facilities, luggage and bicycle racks. Additional boarding gates are fitted to the aft upper deck, enabling the ferry to integrate with the operator’s shore-based infrastructure.
