Norwegian Cruise Line is to install interactive digital signage across its fleet by summer 2015.
Each ship will feature between 30 and 50 of the touch screen signs, which were first introduced on Norwegian Breakaway when she debuted in May 2013. Passengers will be able to order items and make restaurant, entertainment and shorex reservations by scanning stateroom keys on the interactive signs. Norwegian will also use the signs to communicate important safety information to passengers in the event of an onboard emergency.
“The interactive signage has been such a big hit on Norwegian Breakaway that we decided to expand it to our fleet so that all of our guests can take advantage of this exciting technology,” said Kevin Sheehan, CEO of Norwegian. “With the introduction of these screens, Norwegian’s Freestyle Cruising is taken to a whole new level, allowing guests to further customise their vacation on their time. It’s all about freedom and flexibility.”
Norwegian Getaway will feature the signs when she arrives in her Miami homeport in February 2014.
