Interferry, the global association for the ferry industry, is to hold the Interferry2027 conference in the city of Mariehamn in the Åland Islands.
The event will be the association’s 51st annual conference and will be officially hosted by Viking Line, which operates routes to the archipelago from Sweden and mainland Finland. It will bring together leaders from the global ferry sector for three days of discussions and networking in early October 2027.
“The Åland Islands hold immense strategic significance for the maritime sector in the Baltic Sea,” said Mike Corrigan, CEO of Interferry. “We are delighted to partner with Viking Line to host Interferry2027 in Mariehamn, a destination that perfectly embodies the spirit of innovation and collaboration that drives our industry forward.”
“Viking Line is honoured to welcome Interferry and its members to the beautiful Åland Islands,” said Jan Hanses, CEO of Viking Line. “Interferry’s work is crucial for the continued success of ferry shipping worldwide, and we are proud to showcase the vital role this industry plays in the Åland economy and way of life.”
The upcoming Interferry 2024 conference will be held in Marrakech, Morroco, in October, hosted by FRS/DFDS. The 2025 edition, meanwhile, will take place in Sorrento, Italy, hosted by Grimaldi Lines, followed by Interferry2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, hosted Chao Phraya Express Boats.
