Amadeus Nova is the first in a new generation of river cruise ships for Amadeus River Cruises. The line is aiming to combine sustainable choices with a luxurious interior design for its latest vessel, which began sailing in June 2024.

The four-deck ship offers 12 Amadeus Suites, which will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and a walk-out exterior balcony. Inside, each suite includes a corner sofa, a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom, as well as a bed that can be configured as either a double or twin.

In total, the ship has 67 staterooms available in five separate categories. These range from the A-1 Cabin, which offers 188 square feet of space, a drop-down panoramic window and a walk-in wardrobe, to the 172-square-foot C-4 Cabin, which can be configured with either a double or twin bed.

Onboard venues include the Amadeus Lounge at the aft of the ship and the spacious Café Vienna mid-ship on the Mozart Deck, which is next to the Panorama Bar at the front of the vessel. The Panorama Restaurant offers guests views of the river from the Strauss Deck, while the Lido Bar on the Sun Deck provides a place for them to have a cocktail outdoors. The deck also includes a heated swimming pool.

Amadeus Nova’s interiors feature the cruise line’s signature palette of warm colours, combined with a sleek, modern style. Large windows are used throughout the ship, giving guests plenty of opportunity to see the passing scenery. The ship’s design is intended to create a feeling of spaciousness, with more open-air spaces than previous vessels in the Amadeus fleet.

The vessel is also equipped with advanced environmental technology, including a hybrid diesel-electric drive system, solar panels and a heat recovery system that reuses heat lost from the engine room and public areas.

“The Amadeus Nova is our response to the question of whether you can combine ship comfort with environmental awareness,” says Wolfgang Lüftner, founder and managing director of Amadeus River Cruises. “With the new generation, we want to offer the most progressive and environmentally friendly technology currently available. Thus, the Amadeus Nova truly reflects our commitment to sustainable travel. The ship maintains all the characteristics for which the Amadeus fleet is famous for and offers customers a new style of luxury cruising.”
