More than 80 global IT companies will participate at Posidonia 2016, which will be held 6-10 June in Athens, Greece.
IT providers will showcase various solutions covering operations such as communications, procurement, safety, vessel reporting, financial accounting, crew management, energy and emissions monitoring, navigation and more.
“Information and communication technology is of prime importance for all shipping companies onboard and ashore due to the availability of more data that can and will be collected, analysed, cheaply stored and integrated into decision making mechanisms at various levels,” said Theodore Vokos, executive director of Posidonia Exhibitions.
Exhibitors will include Microsoft and Vodafone, as well as Finnish marine technology specialist Eniram, and Greek software solutions provider DANAOS Management Consultants, which will showcase a collaborative e-servicing tool, a fleet performance management tool and a suite of maritime mobility native apps.
Meanwhile, Fortune Technologies will debut a new Microsoft Dynamics NAV 16 Web and Mobile solution, SRH Marine will showcase its COBHAM Network Solution, and SetelHellas will introduces the SetelHellas MRV Solution, which enables shipowners to monitor and report carbon emissions. In addition, Athens-based Mobile Technology will launch a maintenance and inspection solution, a Global Tracking system for commercial and leisure vessels, and an Inventory System for monitoring vessels’ spare parts.
Australia’s RightShip will also debut its new online risk management platform, RightShip Qi.
“We expect Posidonia 2016 to provide yet another opportunity to meet Greek shipowners and senior personnel from the wider maritime industry,” said Warwick Norman, CEO of RightShip. “As we are on the cusp of launching our new online risk management platform, Posidonia 2016 presents a timely opportunity for us to socialise this with key stakeholders prior to the launch in quarter three.”
IT experts will also participate in discussions abut smart ship solutions, maritime VSAT, shipping telemedicine and assistance, and supply chain security for ports.
Kitack Lim, secretary general of the International Maritime Organization, will also attend the opening ceremony of Posidonia 2016.
