Golden Globe and Golden Bear Award-winning actress Kim Novak is to join Cunard Line’s flagship Queen Mary 2 (QM2) on her eastbound Transatlantic Crossing on 6 July 2014.

Sailing as a Cunard Insights speaker on the seven-night voyage, Novak will will participate in an introduction and screening of her most notable films, ‘Vertigo’ and ‘Bell, Book and Candle’, in the Royal Court Theatre, before partaking in a Q&A session led by Hollywood expert Sue Cameron.

“We are delighted to welcome Kim Novak aboard Queen Mary 2 in July,” said David Dingle, CEO for Cunard Line. “Ms. Novak’s work in iconic films such as Hitchcock’s ‘Vertigo’ is beloved among Cunard’s guests and we know they will be thrilled with this unique opportunity to get to know her during the crossing.”

During her forty-year career, Novak has won two Golden Globe Awards, a Golden Bear Award and the Eastman Kodak Archives Award for her major contribution to film. Her notable films include ‘Picnic’, ‘The Man With the Golden Arm’, ‘The Eddy Duchin Story’, ‘Pal Joey’ and ‘Middle of the Night’

“I am overjoyed to sail with Queen Mary 2 in July,” said Novak. “I have sailed to Europe in the past and fondly remember the Transatlantic Crossing as a glamorous way to travel. I am excited to have this chance to relive history onboard such a magnificent ship, and I look forward to meeting my fans along the way.”

On 13 June, director Wes Anderson, Academy Award winner Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman and Roman Coppola will sail onboard the vessel, while actor George Takei will join QM2 on her 28 July Transatlantic Crossing. Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter James Taylor and his band will perform on the ship as part of her 27 August Transatlantic Crossing.

Since QM2 was christened by Her Majesty Queen in 2004, the ship has welcomed a range of well-known figures in the film industry including George Lucas, Uma Thurman, John Cleese and Angela Bassett. Other notable people who have travelled on QM2 include President George Bush, Desmond Tutu, James Taylor, Rod Stewart and Carly Simon have also sailed on the ship.
