The French town of Le Havre has opened a new convention centre, Le Carré des Docks – Le Havre Normandie, to help boost its position as a tourist destination.

The centre was officially opened on 12 December by Edouard Philippe, Mayor of Le Havre and president of the Le Havre Conurbation (CODAH). The ceremony was also attended by Gilbert Conan, CEO of the SPL des Docks; Hervé Morin, president of the Normandy Region; and Pascal Martin, president of the Department of Seine-Maritime.

Le Carré des Docks – Le Havre Normandie can accommodate up to 10,000 people, enabling it to host various types of events, including conventions, tradeshows and shows. This could potentially enable Le to host events for the cruise industry.
