Lindblad Expeditions is to offer short Galápagos Islands cruises for the first time in its 50-year history of visiting the Ecuadorian archipelago.
Starting in November 2018 onboard the recently refurbished 48-guest National Geographic Islander, the new ‘Wild Galápagos Escape’ itineraries will feature a one-night pre-voyage in Guayaquil, followed by five days exploring the Galápagos Islands and an optional one-night post voyage. Guests will be able to enjoy multiple onshore and at-sea excursions every day, including walks, hikes, kayaking, paddle-boarding and snorkelling.
The first two ‘Wild Galápagos Escape’ voyages will depart on 24 and 29 November 2018 and will feature Sylvia Earle, marine biologist and Explorer-in-Residence at the National Geographic Society, as a guest speaker. 2019 departures will take place on 27 April; 2, 11 and 16 May; 31 August; 5, 14 and 19 September; and 31 October.
Lindblad is also introducing a new nine-day ‘Wild Galápagos & Peru Escape’ itinerary, which will enable guests to explore the Galápagos Islands and Machu Picchu, Peru. The itineraries will include a two-night stay in Peru’s Sacred Valley, as well as a five-day voyage onboard National Geographic Islander in the Galápagos. Departure dates include 1 December 2018, 4 and 8 May 2019; 7 and 14 September 2019; and 2 November 2019.
