Canadian ferry operator Marine Atlantic is to implement Hogia’s terminal operating system at each of its three passenger and freight terminals.
Expanding the operator’s existing partnership with Hogia – which started in 2007 when Marine Atlantic deployed Hogia’s ferry reservation system Bookit – the HT Complete operating system is scheduled to launch in autumn 2014. It will help to manage and control all operational and administrative activities at Marine Atlantic’s terminals, increasing efficiency and reducing costs.
“As a vital part of our commercial customers’ just-in-time transportation system, we are committed to providing a reliable ferry service,” said Colin Tibbo, CIO at Marine Atlantic. “This new terminal operating system will enable us to provide our valued customer with timely information and accurate information while improving the efficiency of our port operations.”
Tibbo added: “The new system is a good investment in IT infrastructure that will enable us ensure information consistency while limiting the change process in other business areas.”
HT Complete will also allow Marine Atlantic to improve services for its freight customers, offering them the ability to track and trace cargo online.
