Carnival Corporation & plc has signed a long-term collaboration agreement to berth cruise ships from its North American and European brands at Porto di Livorno 2000 in Italy.
The agreement was signed by Giora Israel, senior vice president of global port and destination development at Carnival Corporation, and Roberto Piccini, president and CEO of Porto di Livorno 2000. Livorno Port Authority’s general secretary Massimo Provinciali also helped to finalise the deal.
“Thank you to the Porto di Livorno 2000 and the Livorno Port Authority for all their hard work and willingness to find solutions and move forward over the past year,” said Michel Nestour, Carnival’s vice president of global port and destination Euromed. “We trust that with this agreement in place we will continue to improve the quality of the services to our passengers.”
In 2015, Carnival Corporation has agreed that ships from the following brands will make calls at the port: Cunard Line, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, AIDA Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines and Costa Cruises
“We are satisfied with the concrete nature of the agreement, which favours customer retention in our port and offers significant potential for the future,” said Roberto Piccini, Porto di Livorno 2000 president. “The berthing guarantee, the Alto Fondale Terminal building and the work still in progress, together with the commercial consideration, were fundamental instruments to successfully completing this initiative.”
